MEET JULIE

Utah has been Julie Monahan’s home for most of her adult life. She has lived in Summit or Wasatch counties for the past 28 years, with the past 14 years in Wasatch County.

She earned her MBA from the University of Utah and then joined IBM. Most of her 30-year career with IBM was dedicated to consulting with federal, state, and local government clients to advise them on strategies and solutions for data-driven decision-making.

Julie has experienced the growth and transformation in our district firsthand and the breathtaking natural beauty surrounding us. With this growth comes a pressing question: How do we manage growth while preserving the unique quality of life that we cherish?

As our population continues to diversify and our communities expand, it's essential that we approach growth with careful consideration and strategic planning. We must strike a delicate balance between fostering economic development and protecting our environment, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the same pristine landscapes and outdoor recreational opportunities that we do today.

At the heart of this challenge lies the need for sustainable policies that prioritize progress and preservation. Julie is committed to working tirelessly to find innovative solutions that promote responsible growth, support our families and local businesses, and safeguard the natural resources that make Utah so special.

Julie believes in the power of community engagement and collaboration. By listening to our residents' voices, advocating for their needs, and fostering open dialogue among stakeholders, we can chart a course toward a brighter, more sustainable future for all Utahns.
